Podstrana is a Dalmatian town located by the sea, and borders Split. It stretches for 6 kilometers and offers pebble beaches alongside. It is a very paceful coastal town, with about 10,000 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in tourism and to a lesser extent agriculture. Neat beaches, clean sea and seabed are the main advantages of Podstrana, that attracts tourists all year round, especially during the summer months. Thanks to the warm climate, the bathing season extends from late May to early October. The warm climate provides more than 2700 hours of sunshine during the year, while more than 100 days a year the average temperature is over 25C, and the sea temperature in the summer months is over 22C.

Podstrana is only 10 kilometers away from Split, one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean, whose historical heritage is under the protection of UNESCO. Also nearby are the ancient Salona, the towns of Trogir and Omis, and the river Cetina.
